Going out with friends is always fun! Something that each of us (hopefully) looks forward to and cherishes the time spent with them. However, when it comes to splitting of expenses, the conversations can range from “Don’t worry dude” to “Why is my share this much?”.

Splitting The Bill

So, how does the conversation turn out -

  • Dude, I got this. Relax!!
  • Hey, can you pay my share and I’ll pay it later (never happens)
  • Everyone equally shares the expenses (people have got their priorities right)
  • Others?? Would love to know more.

I would pay it upfront. Others will send their equal shares to me :sweat_smile:.

Same, but it becomes a lil weird to ask people to pay their split.

With my friends, the rule is simple - from the time we meet, one person spends and keeps tab and before we leave, everyone pays their share. We have been doing this since 21 years

We typically follow another simple rule when dining out: T
Dine out 1 - Friend A pays the full amount :sweat_smile:
Dine out 2 - Friend B pays the full amount :sweat_smile:
Dine out 3 - Friend C pays the full amount and this cycle or the pattern goes on… :sweat_smile:
Fortunately, we usually order the same food items each time, hence the same prices, with the only variation being the choice of restaurant. :grin:

We played a fun game at a restaurant once.

At the time of billing, 5 cards were given to the waiter.
The one that gets picked had to pay :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I put a stop to it in my circle. The system was rigged. My card always got picked :rage:

Maybe try a nudge or two during candid situations. It’s the timing!
If it’s a no even after that, you can send requests.
