Jupiter's Rewards are changing, and you have to decide if its for the good or not

@jigarmistry24 @Aravind

We looked into your transaction and found them to be genuine purchases.
Here’s what we are doing:

  1. We will re adding the corresponding Jewels to your rewards account by tomorrow EOD
  2. We will be whitelisting the payee/merchant details so that they are not blocking the rewards for other users
  3. We are also refining the way we are explaining to users when a particular transaction is not eligible for rewards

Sorry for the followup. Thank you both for raising this and helping us improve our system…

This all we asked for. Thanks for clarifying all their issues.

Received the possible Jewels for that transaction already! Thanks :+1:

@mohit.chitlangia Can you please respond to my query as well? Why insurance payments are not applicable for rewards?

@JupiterTeam @Shawnpinto @sneh.baxi @Jiten
When can I expect a response here?

@mohit.chitlangia Again same thing happened today. No reason displayed in transaction 125812462370 or no Jewels credited in rewards section.

@sneh.baxi @mohit.chitlangia @JupiterTeam @Shawn @Jiten when can i expect a response here?
I posted my query day before yesterday and it is still unresolved.

@shikharmakkar Sorry for the delay…
Insurance payments are genuine purchases… if there has been a payment for which you were not rewarded, please do share the transaction ID and we will look into it…

Thanks for your reply. The transaction ID is 125214517851.

@mohit.chitlangia @Jiten If i may insert a suggestion, instead of overcomplicating rewards and setting aside exceptions and blacklisting rewards, you can de-incentivise rewards for sometime like limiting to a maximum cap of say, Rs.200 max per month and compensate users for the remaining cap sometime later in the coming months. This can ensure three things -

  1. you can minimize your losses on misuse of obtaining rewards and avoid frequent complaints of users for not being rewarded etc.

  2. during the time you are de-incentivising rewards, an automated algorithm can be created for what payments to reward and what to discard, which can save the hassle of manually inspecting payments, because manually inspecting payments also raises privacy concerns.

  3. it can also serve as a retention mechanism for those who actually want to stay on Jupiter and discouraging people who are just trying to bank on Jupiter for rewards

Tbh, I am no expert nor do I hold any sufficient knowledge about unit economics but I posted my opinion nonetheless, hoping if it help even 0.01%, that’d be great.

After a couple of months, rewards would be 1%, it is 10% for a few months.

That’s why I specifically mentioned it @gegobyte

Hello @mohit.chitlangia
Did you get this checked? I don’t see any credit in my account yet.

Finally joined Jupiter after a veryy long wait.
I did my first ever transaction of Jupiter using the debit card on Smallcase, the transaction went through via Razorpay gateway.
After raising a query on support and waiting for more than 1hr. I get a response "I am really sorry for this Kumar. The reason for no rewards for this transaction is because the rewards are only eligible for the payments made using the card directly. "
What can I do when platforms are using payment gateways?
These payment gateways are used by many these days, so does it means I’ll never be getting the “10% reward on payments”.

@mohit.chitlangia
Almost a week has passed since I raised the concern and I still don’t see any action. When can I expect the rewards credited to my account? At least communicate the timeframe so that I don’t have to ask the same thing again and again.

@shikharmakkar @mohit.chitlangia @shikharmakkar Could you check now?
It didn’t show up on the transaction screen due to a bug, this has been fixed.

@mohit.chitlangia @Shawnpinto is there any possibility that in future for merchants who use payment gateways like Razorpay, jewels would be rewarded for such transactions?
