@Dev7 I think Jupiter account is necessary. Especially because you are controlling the card through the Jupiter app.
@manki you have a pointโฆ
I donโt have a RuPay credit card yet. But I have felt the same with Paytm postpaid. I use it for the convenience of no pin and no transfer to your UPI Lite wallet. But the experience is hindered by some merchants who have not opted into Paytm postpaid.
But I can understand that the merchants would have their own logic/issues/inhibitions for not doing that.
Having said thatโฆ We had this issue with UPI also. There were many shops that didnโt accept UPI some 2 years ago. But now they all do (with some exceptions). So letโs hope all these things will work itself out because of consumer demand.
@alexnazy, thanks for instilling some optimism in me. I hope things improve over time. Cheers!
In trello, Jupiter has shipped โdecoupled experienceโ, so ideally credit card usage should be possible without savings account.
Iโm about to get a first-hand experience of how genuine this is as Iโm on course to close savings account and still want to use the Edge RuPay credit card.
@Krishnendu_Chowdhury I am also hoping that. Especially because some people take only credit cards from banks rather than open an account.
And we canโt go and open a bank account just for the sake of a credit card.
But sorry to see you close your Jupiter account. Canโt you hold on for some more time?
If you go to the thread, youโll understand.
Merchants hesitate to accept payments through Paytm Postpaid due to associated charges, particularly for small-value transactions, where their profit margins are already low.
I have Paytm and Gpay merchants, and as of now I havenโt encountered any additional KYC requirements for receiving payments via CC on UPI.
Got it. Thank you sharing this.
Min. Kyc compulsory for receiving upi payment via credit card. & in some merchant app full kyc along others business document /verification compulsory.
I believe Iโve already completed the KYC previously, but it seems that no additional KYC is required to receive payments via CC in UPI this time.
For Paytm merchant account having full/min. Kyc paytm customer account is sufficient. But for gpay merchant account min. Kyc (pan card) is required.
I highly recommend receiving small merchant payment at a time if no kyc done (for avoiding any account freezing)
Where can I read the T&C related to this card? Whats the rate of interest charged as penalty?
Any expected date for this card to arrive or will it take entire 2023 and will be provided in 2024?
Will probably go live in October/November as said by ShawnโฆNo waiting till 2024
@Siddharth_B_R we need to wait for the public launch of the card.
I am guessing that the interest rates may be similar to the other cards from CSB Bank.
So the first week of October has started and Iโm excited for this card to be rolled out for external users.
We will start rolling out in phased manner to approved users from 11th Oct. Running a week delayed due to testing issues.
I think it will take more time than you mentioned.
Thank you for the confirmation, chief!
