(This is my opinion and not Jupiter’s) the time lag between the account being opened and the pro status getting activated could be more so directed towards testing who will actually stick around with the product. While it is not a sure shot way to find a sticky customer, it is one of weeding out users who are not serious about the product offering.
In my company, i use this tactic with people that we hire who are overly cocky.
Recently I found that Decathalon has 2 week period where their on floor associates are to work with no pay before they’re offered a permanent role.
