Iโ€™ve applied for that in the past, but it was rejected due to the age factor. The card might require consumers to be over 21. Is it available to students or others? And one last question, Is ICICI Bank as strict as other banks when processing a credit card application?

Iโ€™m not sure if there have been any recent changes to the minimum deposit requirement. I am not a customer of IDFC, I got my card in June with a deposit of 2000.

Oh. Sorry I didnโ€™t know your age.

I am not sure how strict ICICI Bank is on Credit Card processing.

But I can tell you this. For my ICICI Amazon Pay credit card, ICICI took some processing time. Even though other friends of mine got an instant card.

U canโ€™t exactly say if a bank is strict or lenient when giving cards it all comes down to their risk assessment they do when they give u a card if u a salary slip and good credit score u can get card from any bank ( if u r fulfilling their condition like annual income and stuff) but sometimes if a bank call directly and tell u that they are giving u pre approved card with no docs then u r in luck and as for Amazon pay it would be good if u have a salary slip because in my experience they donโ€™t give it otherwise I waited for 2 yrs like that and finally I applied in my motherโ€™s name they approved it in 10mins and they didnโ€™t ask her to upload any salary slip I donโ€™t know why.
So if u want a cc try having ur account in HDFC I have seen they give Ltf card even they give me ltf without any docs

Yes. This happens especially during month ends. The credit card teams would not have met their targets and so they call customers and give out the cards even with minor adjustments.

But sometimes they push cards that we donโ€™t even want.

Once I applied for SBI Cashback through this thing and yet they pushed me to get SBI Prime card. I rejected the application when they called for verification. I felt cheated.

So, after reading all the comments, Iโ€™ve learned that credit scores and credit processing rely on many factors, such as credit age, loan payments, current credit card or loan holdings, salary or earnings, location, etc.

Current secured credit cards:

  1. OneCard : Rs. 2,000 FD with zero joining or AMC charges, a 1% Forex markup, and an interest-free period of up to 48 days, 3.49% interest per month on outstanding balance.

  2. PolicyBazar StepUp card: Minimum Rs. 2,000 FD with zero joining and AMC charges, FD interest up to 6.5% p.a., close FD anytime with no lock-in period, top-up FD anytime, and credit limit will be increased. Youโ€™ll also receive an instant virtual card and earn 1 reward point for every Rs 100 spent, with 1 reward point equal to Rs 0.25. Enjoy up to 50 days of interest-free period.

  3. IDFC Wow Card: Minimum Rs 2000 FD with zero AMC charges, a VISA Infinite Credit card offering 7.5% interest on FD, 4X rewards on every spend, and no Forex mark-up fee.

Most banks offer secured credit cards.

Just make sure you check what percentage of your FD will they give you as your CC limit.

Now I remember that time the ban was lifted from HDFC for giving cc to customer so I think so maybe thatโ€™s why also they game me a card

One of my friends kept 40000 for 3 months in his account and he got a pre-approved credit card from the HDFC bank. Donโ€™t know whether this happens with everyone every time.

Nowadays customers often receive spam calls claiming they have a pre-approved CC offer and actually are confused with original bank calls and spam calls.

This is true. A few months back, I wanted a HDFC credit card upgrade. But there were no offers in my account. So I kept a big balance and within a month I got the credit card upgrade offer.

Itโ€™s all about Net Relationship Value.

Can the team please give an update on the eligibility criteria for the credit card, I understand that the bank and Jupiter have their own policies for this but just some basics like credit score/ history, annual income will be helpful. Most banks have it on their website but I am unable to find details regarding this card

@mryashchauhan All the details should be available once the card is available for public release. As of now, itโ€™s only in testing. For all we know, the eligibility criteria may not even be decided yet.

Can we expect a secured credit card from Jupiter? It would be significant for students and first-time users who havenโ€™t taken a credit card yet or donโ€™t have any credit score.

In my opinion, the Jupiter Edge RuPay Credit Card should be available for everyone. If someone has a good credit score, provide them with the unsecured version, and if they donโ€™t have any credit score, offer them the option to create an FD (Fixed Deposit) and then provide them the credit limit based on the FD amount.

Secondly, the Jupiter Credit Card with Federal Bank should be named the โ€˜Jupiter Callisto Credit Cardโ€™ as Callisto is the name of one of Jupiterโ€™s moons. It also has an appealing sound. This card should be offered to users who are willing to pay annual maintenance charges (AMC) in exchange for better reward points, cashback, lounge access, free cinema tickets per annum, and free insurance, among other benefits.
