Insights | What's the right way to track? 🤔

BlockquoteI think the auto-categorisation should be replaced totally by tags

This will entirely defeat the purpose. Users will have to manually add tags to each and every transaction. The current system has multitag, auto categorization + the manual tagging can solve your issue.

Though hope they bring in filtering using the auto categorization (in the statement) soon

Received the recent app update sometime back.

Amazed to see that you people have incorporated weekly as well monthly insights now in addition to monthly insights.

However, I noticed there is still room for some improvement here.

  1. Custom period selection in addition to W/M/Y insights.

  2. When I go to all transactions section, and I try to select multiple filters, the transactions don’t display. They are only displayed if I select single filter at a time. Ideally, this shouldn’t be how it works right. I think this is a bug.

  3. In the filter section, the tags are not alphabetically arranged. And I feel if you provide search above filter section to easily search filters, it would be great and very flexible for the users.

Thanks for checking it out @specter :blob_thanks:

Yes, if you had selected the options, ideally it should show it.
Hmm, looks like it isn’t for some reason. We’ll check this.

We’ve noted the 1st and 3rd points too.
Glad to see folks keeping track of their financial insights. It’s good behavior.

Insights is the main reason am sticking to Jupiter. :stuck_out_tongue:
The other reason is Pots.
Wish the same insights and tags will be implemented for the credit card too once it’s launched. :crossed_fingers: :crossed_fingers:

After the new update, now insights showing % of spends along with the capacity bar.
Even when we open the category, there also we see % of total spends.
Previously, there was No. of transactions under the category.
Now % of total spends has become repetitive multiple times.
It was good as it is showing no of transactions under the category. @Shawnpinto

Categorization section in HDFC PayZapp.
Have the following features.
1.Payments using multiple accounts and also Credit Cards UPI and their categorization
2. Custom category creation
3. Tags and Searching tags too.

Any chance of seeing the features of making payments through multiple instruments like CC UPI and their insights on Jupiter like this? @Shawnpinto @Lakhan_Suchdev

I am asking for this as every app is turning into payments app today and the fight is to improve the market share of UPI transactions made through the app now as you know. Even Grow, which is a stock broking app started such feature.
If jupiter allows CC UPI link and insights for every transaction made through multiple payment instruments, it would increase the footfall for Jupiter app.

Payzapp is not a shady one. It works well as HDFC owns it

Good thought. What type of insights would you like to see after you make a payment?

Main feature I’m rooting for is categorisation and tagging feature even for transactions made via other banks and rupay credit cards via UPI apart from jupiter.
Insights can be like most of the grocery spends are particularly via “X” a/c or “X” card. Something like this.
Can we see this coming? @arp4na

For AA connected accounts, we do categorize those transactions. Now, where the narration from the banks isn’t very clear, we are unable to recognise, and those might end up as Miscellaneous.

Reg. grocery spends on an a/c, there is an alternate way to filter by bank account to see the spends by that account.

Point taken on showing spends by a card.

Yes, as you said categorization is available for AA connected accounts.
But here I was insisting on tracking the UPI transactions without even connecting via AA.
But AA for many bank accounts is still in a mess as we get duplicate transactions and also some missing transactions. Banks sometimes don’t even provide the exact time of transactions too.
Like transaction history, how PayZapp is doing it.
Glad that you noted the point on showing spends by a card.
It’s just that I want to track every payment in a single app itself with utmost convenience.
