  1. My monthly expenses are not large enough for the .2% extra rewards to make a difference.
  2. The credit card gives me better indemnity
  3. I prefer a consolidated debit to my account for recurring living expenses (groceries, provisions…) which is most of my monthly expenses.

If you can’t control your spending I would suggest sticking with debit card.

I am biased towards credit cards, so take my comments with a pinch of salt!

  • Credit card reward becomes at least 1.25% if you include interest gain (assuming 6% and at least 15 days for repayment)
  • Easy chargebacks (I know you can chargeback using debit cards too)
  • Helps to maintain Credit Score
  • Other perks!

Would prefer 1% on credit even if there are no additional perks w the card, because I’d rather use credit and develop my score and limit over burning cash instantly!

Plus I agree w @dhanvi on the interest gain angle.

Would shift some expenses if flat 1.5% cb is offered on the debit!
