Building Investments on Jupiter | What do you think? 🛠️

Investments should always be as simple as possible. Period.

1st step should always be an undeniable investment,

a) which should be light on my pocket (so light that I hardly notice it, until and unless I have an accumulated chunk which happens with power of compounding)
b) it should be a experience for me (not like multiple steps just to grow my own money)
c) it should not look like it is fleecing me
d) it grows on its own without my intervention
e) it should be easy for me while redeeming/withdrawing it systematically
f) which has an engagement piece for me so that I love to engage with my investment on regular/fortnight basis (eg. Additional Purchase).

@here Hey everyone. We would love to hear more from you on investments:

  1. Do you invest in anything apart from the popular options such as Mutual Funds, stocks, FD, PF? For example, do you invest in smallcase, US stocks, startup investing or anything else?
  2. If yes, what’s the biggest challenge you face while doing these investments?

US Stock, that I’ve used . Also Tried Digital Gold & Crypto Currency .

    1. US stock problems - Hard to find platform ( Found INDmoney but there was an issue they open one Bank account with SBM Bank India) .

Groww ( website only) aslo have option but they have limited Bank and my bank doens’t support online so it’s hard to go to branch for transfer money in US Stock .

    1. Withdraw charges ( for Indian Bank) is also high , mean who is spending the few hundred/thousand , won’t think to withdraw to see heavy charges.
    1. Gold : growing slow and 3% Tax and also buying selling price has big gap.
    1. Crypto: Platform is taking Charges too. ( Too much Risky too )
    1. Good Thing is - MF is free of these charges, also US stock is easy ( starting from 1$ , only India transfer is Chargeable)

That’s wonderful. Looking forward to exploring it and will also provide feedback on the same

I have been looking for non-equity and passive income platforms off late. Listing some that I have explored.

  • Alternate Debt - Platforms like Wintwealth have made it easy to invest but difficulty to track all things in a single place
  • Fractional Real estate - I like the fact that I don’t need to have debt to own some real estate but reliability and trust is somethings not easy in this category. Big firms have lawyers to ratify the deals but individual investors need to do a lot self due-diligence to invest
  • P2P lending - Its very common in family circle. I wanted it to move to digital platforms. But again these products have their own learning curve and expectation setting. Wanted to try CRED P2P but didn’t get an invite

Challenges

  • Realiabity and risk of the product and services
  • TDS tracking and taxation rules around all these investment is scattered. The paperwork too much
  • Every product has its Learning curve and Financial Awareness is needed to understand nuances and nitty gritties
  • Would love a second opinion on due deligence as doing it alone is not easy and relying on family is not good for these new products

Hey Tarun!

It’s very interesting that you’ve looked at quite a few different types of passive income products. Just curious, did you also come across any other alternate debt platforms like Grip Invest or Jiraaf in your research?
Any platforms that you found and liked for fractional real estate?

Like you said, these are very new asset classes in India so information around the investment and taxation is limited at times.

Hey @Aastha

I have gone through Grip, Klub etc, I definitely like the part of accessibility but i feel i need a second opinion on the contract document that they make you sign plus I would like to understand the risk better there.I mean in simple English terms.

The platforms dont do a good job in explaining the risks.

For fractional CRE, i have explored BHive, strata and some new upcoming platforms.

I like the community aspect of jupiter and would love the second opinion of these products on these products in community.
