@alexnazy fampay also had numberless card… but, it is not credit card.

@hemanthchandra62 As far as I am concerned… This is all bragging. AFAIK, Apple came out with the numberless credit card in USA first. So no brownie points for claiming that we brought it to India first.

Yes I understand there may be some regulatory issues and some consumer mentality issues. But still… It’s nothing new to the consumer as such as we have all seen Apple card do this already.

Guess slowly HDFC is moving towards No Lifetime Free offer for anyone.

I don’t think so it would be a disaster for them and this was the first time I ever heard that HDFC have these cards

It would not be a disaster. But could be a sign of LTF offerings getting tweaked

Yes. I also came to know that HDFC does this through this news.

But I was aware that IITians get credit cards easily.

I also think that.

But my personal experience is that since 2022, I don’t get any LTF offer on my credit card upgrades.

And my RM keeps insisting that there are no LTF offers nowadays. The customer care also maintains the same stance.

But I do know of some friends who have a LTF Regalia. So I am guessing maybe for people who already got LTF offer, they get to keep it until they upgraded their cards. Other than that the LTF offer is provided based on good spends on the credit card.

Same. I have seen that upgraded card has fees even if it was LTF before upgrade and if it is C2C, the possibility of getting LTF is high for HDFC.

Some people could convert CC to LTF by mailing customer care (very few gets that benefits)

I tried emailing to the HDFC customer care to convert my Regalia to LTF. No luck. They said they can’t do that. :frowning:

I have a Credit Score which I managed to get by opening a Paytm postpaid account but I have applied to close it since the convenience fee is steep. I had tried getting some CC but in vain and now there are too many enquiries done to my account which hit my score a bit, but it’s still healthy and above 750. How do I get a CC now? Also I am salaried.

The best way to get your first credit card is through the bank where you have a salary account.

I got my first credit card through HDFC although I wanted a SBI Simplyclick. SBI wouldn’t take my application as I didn’t have a credit score then. So I got a HDFC credit card as I had my salary account there.

I got a credit card, built up my credit score for 6 months and then I got the SBI Simplyclick card.

Go for any bank secured credit card…
After using it for 6 months apply for any bank unsecured credit card on the basis of your income/repayment history or C2C

Oh. But I have my salary account in Fi money.

OK. Then you have to take @DigitaL advice.

Go for any secured credit card. Build up your credit score for 6 months. Then you can get any credit card *terms and conditions apply.

Damn. No chance of getting an unsecured CC? Didn’t want an FD-backed one for no reason!

6 months is not a long time.

Also you can try your luck with other cards as you have a credit score above 750. But since you have multiple enquiries, there is a possibility that your application may be rejected.

So maybe you can wait for 6 months if you are not in a hurry to get a credit card.

Yeah. Guess I’ll just have to wait!
