Your spends could do more. What should Magic Spends do next?

Hey everyone!

You already know Magic Spends — a simple way to turn your everyday spending into investing. :dizzy:

Whenever you make a payment using your Jupiter Savings Account via UPI or Debit Card, a small amount can be automatically invested for you in Digital Gold or Mutual Funds.

But what if your everyday spends could also help you build predictable savings with fixed returns?:eyes:
:bank: Introducing an idea: Magic Spends + RD

We’re exploring the possibility of adding Recurring Deposit (RD) to Magic Spends.
With RD, a small amount from your eligible spends could automatically go towards your RD — helping you build your savings without having to set aside money manually.

And unlike market-linked investments, RD offers fixed returns, making it an option for those who prefer more predictable returns.:money_bag:

But before we build it, we want to know what YOU think.:backhand_index_pointing_down:

1: How do you feel about Magic Spends today?

Would you use Magic Spends to automatically invest a small amount from your everyday spending?

  • Yes! I already use it / would use it
  • :+1: Yes, but I’d like more investment options
  • Sounds interesting, but I haven’t tried it yet
  • :person_gesturing_no: Not really useful for me

2: Would you like RD as an option?

Imagine having Digital Gold + Mutual Funds + RD as investment choices within Magic Spends.
Would you like us to add RD?

  • :bank: Yes, RD would be my preferred option
  • :+1: Yes, I’d like RD as an additional option
  • Maybe — I’d like to know more
  • :person_gesturing_no: No, I’d stick with Gold/MF

3: If RD is added, how would you want Magic Spends to work?

Suppose you choose RD. How would you prefer to automate your savings?

  • :money_bag: Invest a fixed amount with every eligible spend
  • :bullseye: Invest only when my spend crosses a minimum amount

4: What if YOU could decide when Magic Spends triggers?

We’re also considering a minimum-spend option.
For example, you could set:

“Invest only when I spend ₹100 or more.”

So:
₹80 spend → No investment
₹150 spend → Your chosen amount gets invested
Would you want this option?

  • Yes! I’d definitely use it
  • :+1: Yes, for certain types of spending
  • Maybe
  • :person_gesturing_no: No, I want it to trigger on every eligible spend

5: What minimum spend would you choose?
If you could decide the minimum transaction amount required to trigger Magic Spends, what would work best for you?

  • ₹50+
  • ₹100+
  • ₹250+
  • ₹500+
  • No minimum — trigger on every eligible spend

:eyes:And now we want to hear from you!

If Magic Spends lets you choose:
What you invest in → Gold / Mutual Funds / RD
How much you invest → Your preferred amount
When it triggers → Every spend / Minimum spend
How much you invest in a month → Your monthly limit

Would you be more likely to use Magic Spends?

:speech_balloon: Tell us what you’d love to see — especially if you have ideas on how we can make Magic Spends better for you!

There should be multiple investment options gold, silver and also RD, but where to invest should depend upon my transaction amount and transaction type. Also a minimum investment should be of 5 rupees for gold investing in below ₹100 transactions, because I am spending 20 rupees from my account and 10 goes to magic spend look odd. So I should have multiple options and minimum rupees 5 for gold investment.

As I use magic spend regularly.

We are upgrading Magic Spends in this quarter. Expect to see a few changes before end of this quarter.

This makes a lot of sense. Giving users more flexibility to choose where their Magic Spend goes, especially for smaller transactions, would definitely make the feature more useful.
