Guys,
I’m about to buy my first credit card and am totally confused. My wife spends a lot on online shopping and I spend on fuel and air travel. Help me out here by suggesting (that fits the above expenditures) as per your experience!
PS: No specific Bank preferences.

Based on my own experience, I see Diners being a good fit. If flight expenses are more, go for some co branded travel card

For shopping, I feel nothing beats Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card
Unlike Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card, it takes No joining/annual fee. Its the best if you’re a prime user like me as I got 5% cashback on all purchases in addition to the existing offers.
Alsooooo, I got No cost EMI on my new Phone!
I’m pretty satisfied with the rewards 😃

IndianOil Citibank Platinum Credit Card
In Pre-Covid times, I traveled a lot across the city due to work and this was my savior amidst the rising fuel costs that helped me save some bucks. I got around 70+ litres of free fuel last year in the form of fuel surcharge waiver and turbo points.
Best part: Accumulated Turbo Points never expire.

Hey @Dev, Not sure about your spending pattern but I have yearly spends of above 25 lakhs of which about 5 to 8 lakhs are domestic spends like insurance and rest in international sites charging in Euros for various fees. Just like @Jiten, I also use HDFC Diners Club Black as it meets two of my requirements- low forex mark-up and air miles/rewards (1 Reward = 1 Airmile). Moreover, the finance charges are also comparatively low at 1.99%. Also as mentioned above I spend over Rs. 18 Lakh in foreign currency, I got RBL World Safari Card as well. The savings on Forex mark-up fee is significant. A combination of these two cards meet most of my needs.

I would suggest starting with a lifetime free credit card.

You should take a look at Citi Premier Miles. Not much on fuel there but designed for travel and online purchases
